We're proud and a little biased to say it really doesn't get any better than our honey. 100% raw, unfiltered and unpasteurised our honey is a celebration of the blossoms from our pristine environment here in the South West, flourishing with some of the best tastes and medicinal benefits available to the world.
Since 2001 we've been growing our small family business to now home over 350 hives located from Nannup to Metricup in Western Australia's spectacular South West. Here our bees are delighted by some of the oldest forestry in the world, including the world famous Karri, Redgum and Jarrah trees.
Our honey is 100% raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized. This process ensures that you don't damage or destroy any of the amazing enzymes, pollens and naturally occurring chemicals which make our honey so amazing.
We are also migratory beekeepers, moving our 350 hives throughout the South West up to six times a year to ensure that our workers get the best food source available regardless of season.
In addition to this, we encourage sustainable beekeeping practices by only taking excess produce - particularity with regards to honeycomb, where excess removal can damage or completely destroy a hive.
You might have heard before that raw honey is better for you - but if you're wondering why there are actually a number of factors which contribute.
High-quality organic honey is packed with antioxidants, including phenolic compounds and organic acids which essentially help your body to heal faster.
Bee Pollen which naturally occurs in raw honey has been proven to help relieve inflation, boost liver health, strengthen the immune system and reduce stress.
Organic raw honey also contains antifungal and antibacterial properties, which make it a suitable remedy for skin conditions like eczema, dandruff, and acne.
Swapping out regular sugar for high-quality honey in your diet may improve different aspects of heart health, as it has been shown to reduce several risk factors for heart disease. For example, one 30-day study comparing the effects of table sugar and honey in 55 people found that honey helped decrease levels of total and “bad” LDL cholesterol while increasing “good” HDL cholesterol. It was also able to lower triglyceride levels by up to 19%
When you see TA+ on our honey labels, it's referring to our honeys anti-microbial ability. TA is like a bacteria killing scale; the higher the TA the greater the antimicrobial strength. The anti-bacterial activity of honey is derived via natural enzymes and chemicals which occur when the bee interacts with the nectars of pollen.
MGO or Methylglyoxal on the other hand has antiviral and antioxidant benefits. In fact, it has traditionally been used for wound healing, soothing sore throats, preventing tooth decay and improving digestive issues however it mostly found in Manuka honey.
